Hemp Frequently Asked Questions

What You Need To Know About CBD

What Is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the cannabis Sativa plant, which is found in hemp. It’s a naturally occurring substance that’s used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike its cousin, Delta 9 THC, CBD is not psychoactive.

Is CBD Safe?

Our CBD is made with full-spectrum CBD oil and is 0.3% Farm Bill legal range.

However, the use of CBD can carry some risks. We always recommend you consult a medical professional before using any product.

Do not use during pregnancy or while nursing. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Will CBD Get You High?

CBD is found in the hemp cannabis plant and it naturally contains very low THC. Relaxing and soothing are attributes of CBD. However, every human is unique, be sure to talk with your doctor before taking any new product containing CBD.

What Are The Potential Benefits of CBD?

The internet is full of people excited about CBD as the solution for a host of ailments, but these claims are not scientifically backed up. For this reason, no absolute claims can be made about the benefits of CBD. However, many users have reported that CBD can improve their lifestyle and support their overall well-being. Relaxing and soothing are ways to describe CBD.

Does CBD Show Up On A Drug Test?

While a drug test may not look for hemp-derived CBD, it does look for THC, which is present in all full-spectrum CBD products. According to the 2018 federal Farm Bill, hemp is defined as any cannabis sativa plant with no more than 0.3 percent THC. That’s far from enough THC to get you high like you would with marijuana plants.

Drug tests cannot distinguish between THC derived legally from hemp and THC derived illegally from marijuana. Although hemp plants have a low amount of THC, no more than 0.3%, it is enough to test positive in a drug test.

We have encountered countless reports of people losing their jobs and facing legal charges as a result of testing positive for CBD products with the federally legal amount of THC. As unfair as it is, this kind of thing happens.

With this in mind, you may feel that you should avoid full-spectrum CBD products containing trace amounts of THC if your workplace is going to be conducting drug testing. That’s why if you know a drug test is in your near future, you should probably avoid ingestible CBD products altogether and stick to using a CBD topical, regardless of dosage or serving size.

Even pure CBD isolates, which go through a process to remove THC, can cause you to test positive on marijuana drug tests, depending on whether that test is looking for THC metabolites, or the entire cannabinoid content in general. Therefore, care should be taken when purchasing CBD products. Items with a THC-free label may still contain traces of the compound. Careful reading of packaging, labels and third-party test results will help ensure that a person gets all the information they need to avoid adverse effects.

Having said all this, our recommendation is not to use CBD if you are due for a drug test in the near future. We can not guarantee it will not show up on a drug test.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DELTA 8

What Is Delta 8?

Hemp-based delta-8 is an analog of delta-9 THC. Both cannabinoids share a similar name, and chemical structure, and have similar effects. The only difference between the two compounds that occur naturally in the hemp plant is the location of a double bond. The presence of a double bond at different carbon atoms shapes different effects of both isomers. Delta-8 tends to exhibit a lower psychotropic potency than Delta-9.

Is Delta 8 Safe?

Safety is important when you use a delta-8 product.

However, it is best not to consume it with alcohol or any other substance or medication. And definitely contact a medical professional before using it for any specific health condition.

Will Delta 8 Get You High?

Delta-8 THC will give you the intoxicating effects found in THC, but its effects are a bit different. You can still focus, concentrate, and do all the things you love while having a claiming sensation.  It is still a form of THC though, and as with all cannabis products with high levels of THC, a known psychoactive compound, should always be used with caution.

We recommend you start slow and low and assess your tolerance from there. Delta 8 THC can still cause redness of the eyes, especially in stronger doses.

What Are The Potential Benefits of Delta 8?

Delta-8 can offer an elevating experience.

What Form Does Delta 8 Come In?

At Astria Farm we are committed to develop innovative and high quality products, you can choose from a variety of ways to consume Delta 8. These include Delta 8 gummiesDelta 8 vape cartridgesDelta 8 vape juice and Delta 8 tinctures.

Does Delta 8 Show Up On A Drug Test?

Consuming any amount of hemp-based THC can cause you to fail a drug test as the tests are sensitive to all THC.

Our delta-8 THC products contain 0.3% delta-9 THC and though legal it is still possible to fail a drug test.

Having said all this, our recommendation is not to use delta-8 if you are due for a drug test in the near future.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THCV

What Is THCV?

THC-V, also known as tetrahidrocannabivarina, is one of the phytocannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. THCV, as the name suggests, is a close chemical relative of THC. For those who like science, THCV has a side chain with 3 carbon atoms, while THC has a side chain with 5 carbon atoms. However, the small molecular difference has quite a marked effect on the effects and properties of THCV. It is worth noting that THCV is a completely natural component of cannabis.

Is THCV Safe?

Like most cannabinoids, THCV is considered safe and non-toxic. The median lethal dose (LD50) for THCV has not yet been determined, but several animal studies have administered large doses of this cannabinoid without reporting any signs of toxicity.

The main concern with THCV is appetite suppressant activity. People with eating disorders or taking medications with appetite-suppressing side effects (such as cancer therapies) should avoid THCV products.

However, it is best not to consume it with alcohol or any other substance or medication. And definitely contact a medical professional before using it for any specific health condition.

Will THCV Get You High?

THCV can get you high. However, you will need to consume relatively high quantities of THCV before you feel any intoxicating effects. By and large, THC is still the most psychotropic cannabinoid, and the one largely responsible for the infamous high of cannabis.

THCV is still a form of THC though, and should always be used with caution. Start slow and low and assess your tolerance from there. THCV can still cause redness of the eyes, especially in stronger doses.

What Are The Potential Benefits of THCV?

Although still under study, THCV is thought to be a good alternative in the treatment of various diseases and disorders, based on the results of animal research to date. The effects of this cannabinoid in humans are still under evaluation, but the evidence available leaves very good expectations. In this respect, THCV can help in the following cases:

Obesity and diabetes

Reduction of seizure activity

Bone growth stimulation

Reduces inflammation

At Astria Farm we always recommend you to contact a medical professional before using it for any specific health condition.

Does THCV Show Up On A Drug Test?

THCV is an analog of THC, therefore, dictates that THCV consumption results in a failed drug test. Unfortunately, it’s not quite as simple as that.

There’s conflicting information about whether THCV can cause a positive drug reading. Many users believe THCV doesn’t cause you to fail a drug test. However, studies have shown THCV to be present in urine samples two weeks after smoking only one marijuana cigarette.

Having said all this, our recommendation is not to use THC-V if you are due for a drug test in the near future. We can not guarantee it will not show up on a drug test.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CBN

What Is CBN?

CBN or Cannabinol is a non-psychoactive component of marijuana and hemp. This compound does not get you high on its own, but like CBD, THCV or terpenes, CBN has the ability to modulate the psychotropic effect of THC. CBN is produced by the breakdown of THC, mainly by oxidation caused by exposure of marijuana to light and oxygen. CBN is said to have therapeutic powers, which have aroused great interest in the international scientific community for its medicinal qualities. CBN is most notable for its beneficial effects against insomnia, as well as for other therapeutic functions it shares with CBD.

Is CBN Safe?

There are no known side effects of CBN, which is great news for those wanting to try the cannabinoid for the first time. However, there may be side effects that simply haven’t been found yet, so it is best not to consume it with alcohol or any other substance or medication. And definitely contact a medical professional before using it for any specific health condition.

Will CBN Get You High?

You will need to consume relatively high quantities of CBN before you feel any intoxicating effects. By and large, THC is still the most psychotropic cannabinoid, and the one largely responsible for the infamous high of cannabis.

CBN is still a form of THC though, and should always be used with caution. Start slow and low and assess your tolerance from there. CBN can still cause redness of the eyes, especially in stronger doses.

What Are The Potential Benefits of CBN?

CBN shows significant potential as a therapeutic tool, but research on this cannabinoid is still in its early stages. Although early indications are positive, further analysis is needed to quantify the full effects of CBN. Potential benefits include those mentioned below:

Pain relief

2019 study found that CBN induced strong pain-relieving effects in rats. The study also reported that this pain relief was produced by CBN reducing mechanical sensation. Also, in combination with CBD, it would offer potent muscle relaxant and analgesic effects.

Anti-inflammatory

2018 study on the anti-inflammatory effects of cannabinoids found that CBN has impressive anti-inflammatory properties, especially in the treatment of collagen-induced inflammatory disease arthritis.

Antibacterial

Despite not being able to identify its mechanism of action, a 2008 study published in the Journal of Natural Products highlights the antibacterial properties of several cannabinoids. Along with CBD, CBG and CBC, CBN “showed strong activity against various methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus” (strains of MRSA bacteria).

The study concluded that CBN was able to kill MRSA bacteria (bacteria that can cause staphylococcal infections, which cause boils and blisters and can even be fatal in some circumstances), which is especially impressive considering that MRSA is particularly difficult to treat as it is resistant to many types of antibiotics.

Improve appetite

2012 study investigated the effects on eating behavior in rats. Rats given CBN experienced a significant increase in appetite and frequency of food intake, highlighting the potential of this cannabinoid to increase appetite.

Neuroprotective

A study conducted by the University of Washington in 2005 found that CBN was able to significantly delay the onset of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disorder.

The researchers wanted to know whether this cannabinoid influences disease progression and survival rate. They concluded that a treatment of 5mg/kg/day “delayed disease onset by more than two weeks, while the survival rate was not affected”.

Glaucoma

2007 study conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has gone on to demonstrate a correlation between glaucoma and hypertension. Fortunately, CBN was one of the compounds that appears to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP), and is therefore a possible alternative for glaucoma sufferers.

Improves skin

CBN may be a potential treatment for skin conditions such as psoriasis or burns when used topically.

Promotes sleep

As we know, CBN has shown some impressive pain-reducing effects, and it is this pain relief that could help you sleep. Pain can significantly affect your ability to get quality sleep, so CBN could improve sleep by reducing pain levels.

Research with mice found that CBN prolonged sleep duration, while other research indicates that the sedative effects of CBN are enhanced when used in combination with THC.

Anecdotally, CBN users report that it is an effective sleep aid, not only in inducing sleep but also in prolonging its duration. At present, CBN has not been widely studied for its sleep benefits. As research develops, it is possible that more objective evidence of CBN’s efficacy will emerge.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THC-O

What Is THC-O?

Similar to Delta-8, THC-O is a cutting-edge cannabinoid derived from Hemp. Hemp or Cannabis sativa plant is closely related to marijuana. THC-O has similar effects to THC and stimulates a euphoric feeling amalgamated with the common properties associated with the use of cannabis. Many users and publications suggest that THC-O is relatively three times more potent than the regular form of THC-O.

THC-O is much the same as CBD, THC, CBG, and CBN at the most basic definition. They are chemicals that act on the cannabinoid receptors in the human brain. As a result, it can give you a euphoric feeling, it could reduce pain, and potentially relieve your anxiety. The main difference of THC-O is that it is not a naturally occurring cannabinoid, which means it takes a skilled chemist to extract the THC-O compound from the hemp oil.

Is THC-O Safe?

We always anchor our decisions on our ethics, especially when it comes to the safety of our customers. There are already established formulas for THC-O acetate. A lot of hemp enthusiasts produce THC-O using these ready-to-go formulas. Although we can easily ride on this trend, Astria Farm does not use this tactic. We value the safety and certainty of our products. Our products are manufactured with the highest quality standards to help you receive the best remedy or treatment you’re looking for. Astria Farm is committed to improving the method and reference standard of our production and manufacturing. You are safe with us!

Will THC-O Get You High?

As previously mentioned, THC-O can be way more potent than other forms of cannabis and the regular THC. THC-O has been thought to be 300 percent stronger. Yes, it can make you high, but there is something more valuable it can provide you. If you are just going to take a look at the recreational benefits of THC-O, you might get lost in its importance when it comes to medical uses. With the strong effect of THC-O on the human body, it is many times recommended for those who are undergoing medical treatments. Of course, you must always consult with your doctor first before taking it to have prior cautions.

Furthermore, it is worthy to note that our bodies respond differently to anything we eat or inject. Even though you are related by blood to your relatives, your anatomy is different from theirs. It can be deduced that the effects of THC-O vary from one person to another. Where other cannabis-related products may not give the pain relief you want, a THC-O product may be a feasible option. Because of the possible medical advantages of THC-O, more people are talking about it these days but the studies have not revealed their conclusions just yet.

If you plan to take THC-O, it is advisable to start small and gradually increase your dosage. Cannabinoids are difficult to overdose on, but too much might get you very high and give you a horrible trip. Always keep in mind to take it moderately.

What Are The Potential Benefits of THC-O?

THCO shows significant potential as a therapeutic tool, but research on this cannabinoid is still in its early stages. According to Medical Cannabinoid Studies the potential benefits include those mentioned below:

Reduces Pains and Aches

There is a need to put emphasis on the lack of research and study pertaining to the benefits of THC-O in relieving aches and pains. But, most of our customers and THC-O users reported an impressive range of relief. This is actually not surprising since cannabinoids are pretty much associated with relief from physical pain and discomfort. Cannabinoid receptors regulate pain sensitivity and reduce inflammation. More importantly, because of the way THC-O interacts with CB1 receptors in the brain, the euphoric characteristics amalgamated with THC-O compounds may temporarily make the brain less likely to feel pain signals.

Improves Introspection and Inner Work

Many people benefit from introspection and inner work. It is somehow difficult to do, especially if you are not used to it. Luckily, THC-O may serve as a shortcut to do inner work and introspection. Once you take a THC-O product, you may experience stepping inside of your brain. It may sound absurd and crazy, but it can potentially help you reflect on your experiences, habits, and even mental patterns. With this, you may possibly create positive changes to help you grow as a person.

The above mentioned benefits are just a few of the things that THC-O could provide you. You may explore our website to know more about this.

Does THC-O Show Up On A Drug Test?

In general, Cannabidiol or CBD do not usually show up on a drug test. However, the result is most likely to be different in the case of THC-O. If the product that you take contains enough THC, then the result will be positive. It always boils down to the quality and composition of the product that you use.

Having said all this, our recommendation is not to use THC-O if you are due for a drug test in the near future. We can not guarantee it will not show up on a drug test.
